Native Education & Training College of Business, Healthcare, Human Service & Technology
The NETC is situated in the picturesque city of North Bay, Ontario, and offers Indigenous community employees, members and main stream society a multitude of Business, Healthcare, Human Service and Technology programs.
A land acknowledgement is an act of reconciliation that involves making a statement recognizing the traditional territory of the Indigenous people who called the land home before the arrival of settlers, and in many cases still do call it home. It is recognizing and respecting Indigenous Peoples as traditional stewards of this land.
In recognition of our college’s strategic goals to educate and celebrate the different aspects of diverse cultures and traditions, Native Education & Training College is deeply humbled to recognize our Land Acknowledgement statement.
Native Education and Training College acknowledges that we are physically situated in the territory of the Robinson- Huron Treaty of 1850, on the land on which we gather is the Nipissing First Nation Traditional Territory and the traditional territory of the Anishnabek people. The Anishinaabe include the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi nations, collectively known as the Three Fires Confederacy.
In times of great change, we recognize more than ever the importance to honour Indigenous history and culture and are committed to moving forward in the spirit of reconciliation, respect and good health with all First Nation, Métis and Inuit people and our community as a whole.
We would like to thank the diverse Indigenous Peoples whose ancestors’ footsteps have marked this territory for centuries, such as Anishinaabe, including Ojibwe, Cree, Algonquin, Mètis, Haudenosaunee, Inuit peoples. It is a welcoming place for all peoples who come from around the world to share as a home. Together we call upon all of our collective, honoured traditions and spirits to work in building a great community for today and future generations.
