COURSE OVERVIEW

Assist with household management tasks* and instrumental activities of daily living* in accordance with the plan of care/service plan* and considering the preferences, comfort and safety of clients, families and significant others.

Part 1: Perform housekeeping activities according to care plan.

Part 2: Work with client/family to meet needs and preferences within employer guidelines.

Part 3: Update interprofessional care team as needed regarding household management needs.

Part 4: Perform assigned housekeeping tasks following safety procedures and policies.

Part 5: Employ good body mechanics while performing tasks.

Part 6: Use infection control practices.

Part 7: Follow Canada’s Food Guide, client needs and preferences when meal planning.

Part 8: Perform shopping tasks in accordance with care plan, employer policies.

Part 9: Safely prepare nutritious, appealing meals in accordance with client’s dietary needs.
