Operating a forklift requires good control of the risks related to driving the vehicle, such as those related to handling loads or to the work environment. This is just as important for the operator as it is for those around him. This training covers fundamental principles for the safe and compliant operation of a forklift. Several jurisdictions, including Québec, require that the forklift training include a practical component.

Target Audience

All workers who operate forklifts.

Objectives

• Differentiate between handling a forklift and an average car

• Identify the most common forklift accidents

• Describe steps for refueling / recharging batteries

• Describe the center of gravity and stability triangle

• Describe load capacity and the load center

• Describe forklift pre-operation inspections

• Describe safety guidelines and best practices for forklift operation

Course Content/ Educational Approach

Training based on high-quality, realistic 3D simulations that allow learners to clearly visualize risk situations and applicable solutions. Many interactions are included throughout the course to ensure the learners’ participation and understanding.
