Same-level falls, holes, mezzanines, scaffolds, platforms, ladders, stepladders, roofs, towers or skyscrapers, etc.: Opportunities to fall are all around. Year after year, falls are among the leading causes of workplace deaths. This training addresses the main situations which put workers at risk for falls and include basic principles and techniques of fall protection to recognize and prevent potential hazards associated with working at heights.

Target Audience

Workers performing tasks at height, as well as their supervisors.

Objectives

• Identify and describe types of fall protection systems, including best practices for their use

• Describe the employer’s responsibilities in fall protection and training

• List in order the steps to put on a body harness

• Identify and describe different types of lanyards

• Describe different types of anchorage points

• Evaluate free-fall distances

• Identify and describe vertical and horizontal lifelines

• Calculate the factors for determining fall space clearance

• List emergency action plan steps in case of a fall

• List inspecting and maintenance guidelines for fall protection systems

• List fall protection use guidelines in lift equipment

Course Content/ Educational Approach

Training based on high-quality, realistic 3D simulations that allow learners to clearly visualize risk situations and applicable solutions. Many interactions are included throughout the course to ensure the learners’ participation and understanding.
